So a while ago I drove to my local post office. I turn the corner to get to it and there's a Dodge Charger just parked dead in the middle of the road. Not off to the side, right in the middle in the way of anyone going through, which at the time was me. I go around through the side of the road where other cars would park (the opposite way from where I'm going so I'm sure that's a non-no) and as I pass by I raise my hand up in that "dafug, man?" kind of gesture. I park on the correct side down the street, see the charger in my mirror, and just then notice the hazards blinking. Their Charger just done crapped out in the middle of the road and their wasn't anything they can do about it, and yet I just rudely gestured at them as I drove by. So as I was walking up to the post office I felt like a bit of a prick. or so I did until a guy walked out of the office, got in the Charger, hazards turn off, and drive away. Their was nothing wrong with the car and they just stopped right in the middle of the road instead of taking a parking space on the side of the road, which their was plenty of. I'm sure that's not what the hazards are for and parking in the middle of the road isn't something you're supposed to do, so was this an asshat move?

Huh - I dumped an '87 Toyota Longbed 4x4 on its side in a blizzard. Could have been killed, but no traffic coming the other way. Couple good ol' boys helped me push it back onto its wheels, and I drove it home. Yeah, some things are worse.

That's the sort of shit that I would get out my handy valve stem valve tool and loosened all four of his schrader valves, then put the caps back on. Next day (if not sooner), four flat tires.

But given your situation, it wasn't like that was really possible. However... the other part of me says follow him to his destination and do it there. And leave a note saying, "nice job parking back there; I took your plate number and a photo and will be reporting it to the police." Even though you didn't and won't.

Sure, it may not rate up there with the almost getting killed factor, but if we don't DO something about people like that, they will continue to do that. And eventually more people will do it. And then those of us who actually park will be in the minority. So yes, there needs to be consequences for stupid, inconsiderate crap like that.

The dude is a total asshat. I got stuck behind some prick in a Sprinter last week who decided to park next to a mail truck, and hop out to ask the mailman directions. He couldn't be bothered to drive an extra 20' and pull over.

It wasn't one of us sharpspeed. Whoever that person was got lucky a cop was standing there we he walked to his car.
